Here’s why we rarely do microblading hairstrokes on their own, especially for clients with oilier or mature skin types. Let’s break it down! 💡

Microblading creates those crisp, natural-looking hairstrokes by implanting pigment into the skin. It’s beautiful—at first.

But here’s the catch:

🚨Oily Skin Challenges: If your skin is on the oilier side, the excess sebum can cause those delicate hairstrokes to blur and fade faster. Instead of staying crisp and defined, the pigment can soften into a powdery look over time.

🚨Thickening Strokes: During the healing process, the strokes can expand slightly, which is more noticeable on oily or mature skin. This can result in a less defined, less natural appearance.

🚨Longevity Issues: Microblading tends to fade more quickly on oily skin, meaning touch-ups are needed more frequently—and sometimes the results just don’t hold as well as they should.

For these reasons, I often recommend alternative techniques like The Ombre Brow. These options not only give better long-term results for oilier and mature skin but also create a softer, fuller look that lasts longer and ages beautifully.

Do not worry, we always go through the different techniques on the day and you are totally free to change. Your skin type matters when it comes to achieving the brows of your dreams, and we are here to help you choose the technique that works for you. Ready? Book an appointment today! 💕
